His musical influences include Drake, J.Cole, Ed Sheeran, and Damian Marley. Kwasi would like to work with Drake especially because he makes the caliber of music I aspire to make and he is an idol.
"I became a part of RRR because it is an awesome idea put together by stepdad and its made for artistes, like myself, to express themselves and build a platform, but most of all because music is my passion."
Rasta Rocket Records was founded by Ryan “Rasta Rocket” Gourzong when he decided to follow his love of reggae music into the production arena circa 2013. Based in Dubai, where the music is produced, much of the mixing and mastering is done out of One Pop Studios in collaboration with Grammy award winning engineer Rorey Baker.
At the core of Rasta Rocket’s influences are revolutionary icons of reggae, Peter Tosh and Black Uhuru whose staple of hard-hitting drum & bass led him to seek out the world-renowned “Riddim Twins” Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare, with whom he has collaborated on a few tracks on the soon-to-be-released EP, Rasta Rocket Records Collection: Vol I.
Rasta Rocket Records is building its artist roster with talent that fuses reggae with hip-hop, R&B and jazz, as well as collaborating with veterans of dancehall. The EP will feature up-and-coming young artist Kwasi Wray, “Mr. Twingy Twanga” the legendary Hawkeye and Rasta Rocket himself on songs such as Struggles and Policies which delve into the plight of the third world, the more upbeat hip-hop laced My Own, light-hearted love ballad Butterflies by songbird Elyssa Johari, and odes to Jamaica and Casablanca by sultry songstress Karimah.

Norman "Rusty Rocket" Russell is influenced by music he heard on the radio while growing up in Jamaica. For this reason the main criteria for working with anyone is that they play conscious and uplifting music. Music that feeds the mind and soul.
Being a part of RRR is an opportunity to do what he loves amongst friends.

Growing as an artist I had many influences, from indie to more mainstream artists. Generally I enjoy playing and listening to all genres.
If I had to pick the biggest influence to my musical style and approach to writing, it would have to be Ed Sheeran. I admire his lyrical mind and musical creativity with looping himself. I find the quality of layering your own sounds over and over to make a beautiful piece of work fascinating and fun. Undoubtedly I would love to work with Ed. But if I had to name another it would be the artist I aspire to be more like in the future, and that is Matt Corby
The sheer control of his voice and progressive vigor in his strumming truly conveys the emotion behind a song. And that is art at its finest. To connect with someone so vividly through their music is undeniably a skill I long to achieve.RRR has broadened my perspective of my musical capabilities and introduced me to a whole new artist within me that I never knew existed. At the same time they appreciate who I am as an artist, which is all a musician could ever ask. I look forward to creating new music, or rather art, with them in the future.
